Port State Control Reporting System

NMSA Automatic Identification System (NMSAAIS)

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is designed to be capable of providing information about the ship to other ships and to coastal authorities automatically.

The NMSA AIS online screen provides a complete AIS interface at our regional based stations that includes the ability to:

  • Identify, view and track all AIS equipped vessels
  • Display specific vessel information
  • Send and receive safety messages
  • Automatically send virtual Aids to Navigation (AtoN) messages (only with AIS base stations)
  • Provide additional information to assist collision avoidance and investigation
  • Since AIS display is fully configurable, operators can adjust the display of information panels, customize color patterns for AIS targets, and set entry and exit alarms specific to each other
  • Archive important data into a database
  • Make any operational decision or action
  • Provide full range of unique marine traffic reports
