National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) is ultimately responsible to the State Minister for Transport and Civil Aviation. The day to day operations on the Authority is run by a General Manager and his two (2) Executive Managers, who are in turn responsible for two divisions being Maritime Operations and Corporate Services. The Maritime Operations division is a technical division with five departments, ie Ship Surveys and Inspections, Navigation Safety, Environment Protection, Maritime Standards, and Marine Qualification, whereas the Corporate Service division has Finance/ Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources and the Corporate Strategy and Quality Assurance Department. The Community Development and Legal Departments are under the General Manager/CEO
