Notice to Mariners
Notices to Mariners is the official notices send to all mariners and agencies informing them of the incidents,reports status of the Navigational aids, nautical publications and other updates the industry and the general public need to know. The Hydrographic Services decide to issues Notices to Shipping as local notices to our shipping and agencies in updating and informing issues with the maritime safety for safe navigation. NMSA Notices to Shipping is used by the Australian Hydrographic Office to update the Notices to Mariners. The notice has the number of the notice and the year, and subdivision of the sea below identifying the location and the temporary charts affected.
Other Notices These notices were sent to stake holders as e-mail attachments, appeared on the newspaper or sent via fax. These also includes other notices such as Gazettal Notices and Warnings etc. Please download to view.
eNotices In 2003 the Australian Hydrographic Service introduced a system that allows you to receive Australian Notices to Mariners for your charts by e-mail. The official copy of Notice to Mariners including any block corrections and tracings can be found at www.hydro.gov.au
Forms The following forms should be required by Survey contractors doing hydrographic survey work in Papua New Guinea. Upon accomplishing of the survey copies of the data accompany with necessary forms can be sent to National Maritime Safety Authority Attention to Hydrographic Services Department for archive and storage. Those data will be kept as commercial confidentiality for the Contractor and anyone who requires these would request approval from the owner. The data will be only be used for charting if required by our Chart Authority – the Australia Hydrographic Office.
