The National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA)
The Papua New Guinea National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) was established by the NMSA Act 2003 and is responsible for matters concerning maritime safety, coordination of search and rescue and marine pollution prevention. Additional to these mandated functions, the NMSA is also responsible for collecting and managing data, as well as, to act on behalf of the State on any domestic and international agreements relating to maritime safety, marine pollution prevention and search and rescue.
