Notice to all Shipowners - Papua New Guinea National Maritime Safety Authority

SHIPS BELIEVED NOT TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED

The National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) is the Registrar of Ships, meaning that it is the entity responsible for maintaining the National Register of Ships in Papua New Guinea, established under the Merchant Shipping Act 1975, as amended.

It has come to the NMSA’s attention that certain companies listed in the Register of Ships as shipowners have been removed from the Register of Companies maintained by IPA, and are therefore defunct. In consequence, the ships owned by these defunct companies are not legally registered, and unless anyone provides a valid reason why these ships should not be removed from the register, they will be removed from the register on Friday 20th October 2017.

The ships to be deregistered and their owners are listed in the table below. Anyone objecting to the deregistration of these ships should contact the Ship Registration Department at:
